Duplin County Schools congratulates two National Board Certified educators

National Board Certification is a rigorous, performance-based process designed to evaluate teaching practice and recognize accomplished teaching in schools across the United States. The ultimate desired outcome is improved student performance and achievement. National Board Certification is also available for Media Specialists and School Counselors.

Educators who have participated in National Board Certification have overwhelmingly stated it is the most powerful professional development experience of their careers. They say the experience changes them as professionals and that through the process they deepen their content knowledge and develop, master, and reflect on new approaches to working with students.

North Carolina ranks #1 in the nation with the most National Board Certified educators and Duplin County Schools just added two more to the list!

Congratulations to Karrie Jarman, teacher at Beulaville Elementary School, and Danielle Ficken, school counselor at North Duplin Elementary!
