Principal reassures parents, no threat at East Duplin

The following message was received from Principal Scott Ballard in an email to East Duplin High School parents in Beulaville:

“Good morning, Panthers. We received word of a school threat early this morning. We believe that this message was actually referencing another situation at another school. The message referenced a threat made at school this past Friday. There was no threat at East Duplin High School this past Friday. We believe that there is no validity to this rumor. We will have extra law enforcement on campus as a precaution. Please make the best decision that you feel comfortable for your student.”
