Duplin County Students Awarded Scholarships in Memory of Fallen Trooper Benjamin D. Wallace

On Monday, May 16, NCSHP members from Pender, Duplin and Wilson counties along with retired Troop B Headquarters staff attended the East Duplin High School Senior Awards Night to honor Trooper Benjamin Derek Wallace, B-447, who passed away after suffering a medical emergency on November 2, 2018.

Also in attendance were Trooper Wallace’s sisters Joy and Misty, and his niece Ashley. During the ceremony Trooper P. Howard Jr., Vice President of the Trooper B. D. Wallace Memorial Foundation, presented scholarships to two East Duplin High School seniors in honor of Trooper Wallace’s selfless sacrifice to the citizens of Duplin County. These recipients will be furthering their education in the criminal justice field.

Congratulations to these scholarship recipients! The entire Patrol family offers our best wishes as they carry on the name and legacy of Trooper Wallace.
